Bowls and Burgers

Eid Al Fitr is a two-day holiday after the holy month of Ramadan and this year 2K14 it falls in July which by the way is one of the hottest month in Dubai.

The beach and the park are not in our list of things to do this time of the year.

Thanks to the number of huge malls and to the many activities they offer. We headed to the Mall of the Emirates for some fun with the kids. Bowling is one of the activities we all enjoy a lot so we went bowling at Magic Planet.

Ferald showed the kids how to do and then he lets them do it on their own.

I also had my turn of course, yes with this lovely floral dress from the Philippines courtesy of my friend Jeah.

Of course dad won, he was hard to beat.

After the game, the kids went to have some fun rides and played more games.

Johnny was calling our names, he was by the corner of the gaming area and it was hard to miss him especially with his glaring red sign. We went all American and had burgers

Ferald had Route 66 (named after the infamous/iconic, carefree American Highway) Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and mayonnaise. Need I say more?

and I had The Original (served since 1986 on Melrose Ave, LA) while the kids had crispy tender chicken fillets

Bacon cheese fries is a must I must say which directly send us to seventh heaven (American fries topped with melted cheddar cheese and chopped smoked bacon)

It's pretty cool that this burger joint stays original, saw one of the vids taken in 1986 and even the staff uniform is still the same after almost three decades.

Service was good, food was great and the ambiance super cool (my daughter said she liked it "old school"), price wise it is not our daily burger spot, since it was Eid, it was worth the treat.

  1. What a fun way to bond with the whole family! My last bowling trip was 2006 when we used to live near Dubai bowling center in Deira.

My son quiet ejoys Johny Rocket chicken strips but we have yet to try their burger. Right now, we're all about Wendy's Bacon mushroom melt!

Happy weekend and cheers to more adventures!

  2. Bowling is indeed an awesome activity for the whole family!
I love Johnny Rockets too! The burgers are delish but the prices are a little harsh in the pocket... not budget-friendly at all! :)
