Celebrating at Al Dawaar Revolving Restaurant l Hyatt Regency Deira Dubai
It's been eighteen long years but it still feels like yesterday since we got married. That's long if you would think about it and yes our wish is to forever. Cheese! Haha!
Having been able to raise our own family here in the UAE (with its ups and downs) and having survived covid last year, was for me, something worth celebrating.
What better way to celebrate our special day but with a special dinner date together with our kids at Al Dawaar, the only revolving restaurant in Dubai perched on the rooftop of Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai.
This restaurant has always been on my radar and I'm glad we get to experience dining here with the whole family including little Bella on my tummy, made possible by my Rewards Entertainer.
This elegant colonial-inspired restaurant offers stunning 360-degree panoramic views of Dubai day and night while you indulge in delicious and well-curated International and Asian dishes.
The floor does move gently without the dizzying effect. If we timed it right, it takes about an hour for one full turn. Dinner service was for two hours (from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and 9:30 to 11 pm) so it's two full turns with different views every few minutes. I booked the first service so I could take photos of both day and night views which was lovely by the way.
With the new normal and following all safety guidelines, the whole buffet spread is encased in thick acrylic sheets with the restaurant staff standing behind the counters and diners on the other side. We order our choice of food and spooned served to our plates. Not something we are used to before but learned to accept. This is how most buffet restaurants operate in Dubai these days.
Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed every plateful of our food.
We all enjoyed the roast beef (I got one slice and ask them to cook it well done for me) oh it was wonderful. I also enjoyed some seafood stew, grilled hammour, lamb Kadai, some fresh salads, soups, and cold mezze. Prince came back for a second serving of mac n cheese as well as some California rolls. We got a little bit of everything. Their food is delicious and will recommend this place in a heartbeat.
Dining at Al Dawaar is definitely one for the bucket whether you are a tourist or a resident. That revolving part is one of its unique and best features second to the taste of the food, excellent service, and great ambiance.
