Vandalism or drawing graffiti in Dubai is an offense with AED 500 fine and double (AED 1000) if repeated but the leaders of this Emirate got a better idea and took graffiti to a sophisticated level.
To mark UAE's 43rd National Day last December 2, 2014, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council directed the quick implementation of the project called "Our Journey" which entered the Guinness Book of World Record as the longest graffiti measuring 2, 180 meters long in the shape of the UAE map. It has seen the works of professional graffiti artist both local and international come to life last November 29 and 30, 2014. This project is part of Sheikh Maktoum's directives to make Dubai as an "Open Air Gallery"
We took the kids out that day to join the celebration and see this newest addition in Dubai's ever growing list of world records. Here's our journey inside Our Journey
I think even the clouds celebrated with UAE that day showing off its power in mimicking things
Then some fun with the iconic Burj Khalifa with the kids
I love this camel, seriously
This is my favorite
It was a beautiful day to go out and about, have you been to "our journey"?
