Nour Arjaan by Rotana: A Contemporary Hotel at the Heart of Fujairah

It's been a long time since we visited Fujairah, the only Emirate of UAE facing the Gulf of Oman and the Emirate which has got beautiful rock mountains.

We have explored the mountainous side and beach front during our previous visits and you can read about them here, here and here.

As usual, Ferald and I was very excited about this road trip because we have the kids with us this time. We planned to explore the city side of Fujairah and we will be staying at Nour Arjaan by Rotana located at the city proper.

Getting There

We left Sharjah at 10:45 am expecting to arrive past lunch time. I guess we underestimated the new road because before we knew it, we have arrived in the city of Fujairah in less than an hour. The Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Free Way is an excellent road work cutting through the mountains and giving travelers a quick commute from Dubai to Fujairah.

We can't stop thinking about Route 66 from the Cars movie and the current state of Sharjah-Dibba-Masafi road going to Fujairah now. (I really hope you guys are fine back there.)

Since we used the new high way, we missed to stop at the Friday Market. I was hoping that on our way back, we could see it and pass by for some photos and maybe buy something to take back to Dubai but we missed the turn and used the same route to the free way.

We followed Maleha Road towards Sharjah-Kalba Road before exiting to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Free Way
Admiring the golden mounds of sand will keep you busy while passing Maleha and Sharjah-Kalba road

and when you reached the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Free Way, you will be in awe of the majestic Hajar Mountains

It still amazes us how we reached Fujairah city proper in no time.

Check IN

Nour Arjaan has a multi-story parking space so parking was a breeze. Check in was also fast and smooth and the staff at the reception welcomed us with smiles on their faces.

We wanted to see the City Center first so the husband ask for directions, he also inquired from the concierge the touristic areas to visit. To our surprise, the staff handed us a map of Fujairah complete with all the places to visit. It was actually very useful and if you have noticed we marked the map with numbers to see which place to go first.

We only have a small bag but still we were offered assistance but we politely declined and went to our room on our own.

The Room

Our room was a Premium 1 Bedroom Suite. - an 88 sqm contemporary room with the Fujairah city view. This one bedroom suite is furnished with modern furnishing featuring a separate living and dinning room, fully equipped kitchenette and spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Facilities include wireless internet connection, IP telephone, a 32 inch LCD in the bedroom and 40 inch LCD in the living room, and a mini bar. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities was available as well as hairdryer and personal in room safe.

We requested for an extra bed thinking that we won't fit in the bed but we were wrong. It was big enough for the four of us. We like to huddle up when we sleep. :D

A few minutes later, the bell rang and a complimentary platter of fresh fruits and chocolates arrived.

The king size bed was irresistible and so are the chocolates.

I always love this part of the bathroom. As a mother, it is always good to know you have everything the family needs.

We didn't have the best view of the city from our room at 1605 but I was still able to capture some from other windows of the hotel

This one was from our room.

The view by night is awesome too.

Things to do at the hotel

After resting for a while, we went out to have some lunch and explore the city a bit before coming back to the hotel.  We went to check out the swimming pool before going back to our room to change. The pool is at the same floor of Bodylines Fitness and Wellness Club where they offer different types of massage (open from 6 am to 10 pm). They also have a well equipped gym, Aquarius Pool Café and Flippers Kids Club where kids can play free of charge.

The weather is still pleasant but it gets really warm by mid-day. The pool was so inviting, the kids went straight to the water while I on the other hand couldn't swim because I didn't bring a proper swim wear. I needed to get myself one so I can join the family the following day.

The swimming pool is quite small and can easily get crowded in the afternoon, if this bothers you, come early morning or late afternoon.

After the much needed dip in the water, we went back to our room and get ready for dinner. Dinner was a quick one since we were all exhausted from the days activity. Prince was too tired and slept in the car on our way back to the hotel. We burrow ourselves to the soft duvets and snooze the night away.

Murjan Restaurant

Our breakfast and lunch was at Murjan Restaurant, Nour Arjaan's all day dining restaurant.

Since it was Friday morning and it's officially the weekend, the restaurant was extremely busy. Luckily there was still a table available. It feels awkward to take photos because there were too many people and I was afraid it might offend someone. Nonetheless, we loved the food, there was enough variety to chose from. On the other hand lunch was a quiet affair. We came just when they are about to open and I could take pictures of the freshly prepared dishes.

Full and sated, we went straight to the check out counter since we already packed our things and put in the car. We still have a few places to see before heading back to Dubai. I'll be sharing them to you in this space so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Nour Arjaan by Rotana is a beautiful and contemporary city hotel. It is very easy to find, just opposite the Etisalat building. It is also a favorite hotel among sports enthusiast, business travelers and families. We were told that there is a local football match happening during the weekend and they have three teams checked in at Nour Arjaan.

We also saw a lot of people checking in while we are checking out.

Our overall experience is nothing but flawless.

We are guests of the hotel but as always all photos and opinions our my own except otherwise stated.
