Bosporus 5th restaurant and the largest of all in UAE and in the Middle East, with a sitting capacity of over 300 people opened recently in Wafi City.
The ever growing Dubai dining scene has another addition but the company explained that this expansion comes in response to the increasing demand for authentic Turkish food in the region.
We were invited to witness a red carper event, all glitz and glamour with fantasy like characters to entertain.
The entrance of the restaurant was decorated with a miniature Bosporus bridge mimicking that of the restaurant logo as well.
Pomegranate juices were served as a welcome drink, truly authentic Turkish
The event was well attended by Emarati VIP guests, celebrities and members of the media.
Shaikh Ahmad bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Shaikh Rashed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and the Turkish Consul Mr. Erdem Ozan led the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The interior features an Ottoman design with a contemporary twist.
The restaurant was utterly busy during the grand opening and I can't imagine the scene in the kitchen. Some of the guest including the eight of us on our table was kept waiting for the food to be served, not to mention other tables next to us.
The waitstaff can't do more but to follow up orders from the kitchen. One of our friend felt the need to call the attention of the PR who invited us all. Apologies were given and the food arrived on each of every table waiting to be served.
A freshly grilled mixed kebab served on a single wooden panel arrived on our table. Perfectly cooked and tender selection of chicken, lamb, and meat came still smoking hot.
Given that it was the opening night and despite the fact that they are unbelievable busy, still they were able to pull it off and for that I congratulate Bosporus. More than that, the taste and quality of the food was not sacrificed despite the number of guest they needed to attend to that night.
As my usual verdict, as long as the food is good, there is no way I will not recommend a restaurant. I know service is equally important but it can come in secondary.
I will be back for sure and I'd like to take someone special to try their food.
